Quick start rules

Players of 1-6 venture through a Dungeon filled with Monsters and Treasure.

The primary goal of [Project Keystone] is to travel down through a semi-randomly formed Dungeon, reach the end, slay the Boss, and return with Treasure which is accrued from defeating Monsters on the journey.

At the start of the game, players select a Hero who they will be playing as, as well as a Pet who will accompany them and provide buffs and support.

To form the Dungeon, group the Monster cards into Level order, and shuffle internally. Spread the cards in columns so each Player has their own column across the table in the following count:

Level 1 - 3 cards

Level 2 - 4 cards

Level 3 - 5 cards

Level 4 - 3 cards

Level 5 - 1 card

Boss Monster

Discard the remaining cards.

Encounters is Turn-Based, Hero-Based action. One player steps up for their turn, they have a back and forth with a Monster, the Encounter is completed, and move onto the next player. This repeats for everyone, and does so till the end of the game.

If a player dies in the Dungeon and others are still alive, they can come back as a Ghost. Ghosts act as support characters, choosing to be kind and supportive to their fellow Heroes, or a menace and try to get them slayed in the Dungeon.

The game is classed as “over” when either of the following conditions is met:

A player has reached the final Boss, and has landed the killing blow marking them as the grand winner, and earning them a huge amount of Treasure.

All of the players are announced as Dead, and the game cannot continue further.

Players choose the end the game early.

Count all your Treasure. Whoever has gotten the furthest in the Dungeon is the winner. Alternatively, is multiple players are at the same place, whoever has collected the most Treasure is the winner.

That’s the simple of how to play the game. The rest of this guide can serve to further explain mechanics, systems and rules. It also acts as a giant compendium of all Monster types, specials and of course our Heroes.
