The standard way for players to play [Project Keystone] is to have a solo or group of players descend down the Dungeon, slay monsters, and make off with Treasure at the end of the game hopefully alive.

However, players are encouraged to be creative with alternative ways to play and create “Homebrew” styled rules. If you are struggling to think of some interesting alternative ways to play, here are some idea’s to get the ball rolling.

You can mix and match them, take out elements that you don’t like, and replace as you see fit. It’s your game.

Please note that while great care has been made to ensure that the base game is challenging, fun, and fair, that might not be the case with these alternative rulesets. Unbalanced is somewhat the point we think, and variation on these variations is encouraged.

The short game

Play with cards from Level 1 – Level 4. The order and flow of cards remain the same.

The Long Game

Play with all cards as long as it’s even across the number of players.

Don’t give someone more or less cards than the other party.

Alternative starts

Skip Level Depth 1, and start at Level Depth 2.

Solo

Play by yourself! You don’t need friends when you’re with this guy!
