A Hero is considered dead when their Health stat is equal or less than zero.
Upon Death of a Hero, the Encounter is over, and the Encounter Monster is returned facedown in the Dungeon Rail. Count up your collected Treasure, and that is your score.
Gather all of their Monster kills into a single stack, and place them at the end of the Dungeon. This is known as Dead Mans Treasure, and is distributed to the Hero who lands the final killing blow on the End Game Monster.
If players perishes within the Dungeon, they have the opportunity of continuing play as a Ghost.
While the Ghost Hero Card looks very similar to the Hero Card, they do behave slightly differently. For starters, they cannot engage in combat, and instead follow a Hero offering buffs and/or de-buffs. This is known as Support and Haunt. Players are free to choose whether to Support or Haunt, but must still roll for the outcome.
Support sees the Hero being buffed with additional Armour, or a strengthened attack for that turn.
Haunt sees the Hero de-buffed with reduced Armour, or a weakened attack for that turn.
Ghost actions take place at the very beginning of the Encounter, before the initial Evade check.
At the end of a completed turn, whatever buff or de-buff has been cast is reset, allowing for a new buff or de-buff. If there are multiple Ghosts on a single player, the buffs or de-buffs stack, but reset at the end of the Turn as they would normally.
Ghosts are free to move across the Dungeon, and move from player to player, Supporting and Haunting as they please.
There is no limit to the number of Ghosts in a game, all Ghosts must follow the current Hero in Play. in essence, a single player could have 5 Ghosts on them at any one time.
Turn order for Ghosts is decided by order of death with first place going to who died first. Players are able to share the card when it comes to their turn.
If all players are dead at the end of the game count the Treasure as you normally would.
If someone(s) complete the Dungeon and a Hero is announced as the winner, Ghosts do not get a share of the Treasure at the end of the game. The Treasure would simply fall through their ghostly hands.
